This Toshiba HDTV looks great on paper and the price is very nice, but its hard to find and in depth reviews for it. I am very interested in purchasing it and using it with my Mac and PC as both a TV and computer monitor.
Does anyone use this TV as a PC monitor?
Does it have picture in picture with the TV and PC?

I bought this as the gold-box deal of the day primarily to use as a computer moniter and its ok… i think its a much better tv. The picture is beautiful!!! The problem with the use as a moniter is its lack of settings that are typically used with computers. I had to tweak it alot to get it to work as a computer moniter (I have it hooked up to an NVidia Geforce GTS 250). Its worth the money, but I think there are better moniters out there for the same money… note i said moniters. All tv’s I’ve seen have the same problems as this one with the lack of settings in them. So, Its worth the money… beautiful picture and good sound. It is better than most tv’s for input selection.. its great on that. I’ll probably buy a better moniter later and put this in my bedroom… but that will be some time… as it’s working well for now. The only other concern I have is its 8ms respond time… many games and video systems reccommend 5ms or less for peak performance… and i think that’s the cause of some “flickering” on it.. i lose signal from the computer for a few seconds sometimes… which does not happen on the 26” sanyo tv i was using for a moniter.. or any real computer moniter i’ve tried. All in all its a great tv, decent moniter, and well worth the money

Pros: Great picture…pretty good sound
Cons: Cable connections are “back facing”…no cable management…no alarm feature…stand does not swivel
I bought this TV as an Amazon one day special for $389 replacing my Toshiba 32HL95 (which I love and still have) as my bedroom TV. TV arrived right on time, although I was a little bit upset that the deliver guy left it right in front of my garage and I live on a busy street (“Hey guys…free tv!”). Anyway, the picture blows away the 32HL95 as I hoped most likely due to the higher refresh rate. The sound is pretty good, although I think the sound from the 32HL95 may be a bit better. When the bass is increased and the sound turned up, I heard a bit of a rattle. I may have to play around with the audio setting on the TV and my cable box to get the optimal sound.
My only complaints (and they are somewhat petty) are: The cable connections are perpendicular to the back of the TV. Fortunately, I was not wall mounting this TV so I’m ok, but I thought others would want to know this. Missing from this Toshiba is the cable “gatherer” (for lack of a better term) that my 32HL95 had which kept the cables gathered at the base of the stand…nice and neat. Speaking of the stand, this one does not swivel. My main complaint is that there is no alarm feature. I love using the TV to wake up to…I was so excited about the deal that I did not research this. Now I had to spend some of my savings on an alarm clock that I really don’t want. Oh well…you win some, you lose some!

I am extremely impressed with this set. It came fast and it was very easy to set up. It looks great and the picture quality is great. I shopped around for quite some time before deciding to go with this one. It is for our bedroom so i was not concerned with it being gigantic. It’s size is perfect and it having 1080p is the best cause i use Directv and wanted to take full advantage. I’ve noticed finding a 32″ in 1080p is hard and it usually jumps up the price quite a bit. Only 60hz but no biggie cause it’s just for our bedroom. Overall I find it to be the best deal I got this year! two thumbs up Toshiba!

We just received this tv today, having purchased it after tons of exhaustive research. Set-up was a cinch, and it looks fantastic. It was also relatively easy to program the remote to work with our DVD player so that we can only use one remote. We are planning to use it with a DVD, a PS2, and a laptop (for streaming netflix), and all of that seems just great–still waiting for our hdmi cord to test the laptop.
The only issue is that the tv emits a buzzing sound when it’s on. We were able to trace this sound to the backlight setting, and on “movie” setting it’s the lowest (but still quite audible). I called and spoke with a technician who says that this is normal. It’s most annoying when the tv is on mute, but we probably won’t sit around with it on mute. I may be calling back to see if there is another solution. If so I’ll update. Does anyone else have this issue?
